I'm a sucker for sports romances! One of these authors is an absolute fave and her book floored me! The other one lacked a few things but it was still enjoyable.

Every little girl dreams of being swept off her feet by a charming Prince.

But my life was no fairy tale.

And in this kingdom called college, the rules went out the window.

I’d known golden boy, Theo Hunt, was the one for me since we were kids. My heart was his for the taking, but I had become nothing more than the MVP of the campus king’s friend-zone.

Easton Cole was a storm I couldn’t have predicted. He knocked me off my feet and stole my heart. But he was off limits. Not only was he was Theo’s frat brother, but he was the teacher’s assistant in English 101 and I was acing every test.

My heart was torn, my feelings tangled.

Because as soon as I noticed Easton, Theo finally noticed me.

I was in love with two guys, as different as night and day, but I could only have one.

I only hoped I didn’t choose The Wrong Prince Charming.
I know this sounds like a love-triangle but it isn't! You just know from the start who she's going to pick and that's why I kept reading and I'm so glad I did! Holly Renee keeps proving why she's one of my favorite auto-buy authors! I'm flailing over here with how much I loved this novel!

The grin that lit up his face was the grin of a heartbreaker, and I knew firsthand just how treacherous falling for him could be.

Guys, Easton has my heart! I went into this thinking he was a player but, my gosh, he's anything but! He's the sweetest, most thoughtful human being on earth! He's mine! My heart kept melting over anything he'd say and it got to the point that I thought, "He can't get any better than this," but he did and I was a blubbering, sobbing mess! He embodies what every guy should be and my heart keeps beating so hard for this man!

"I guess you'll just have to come up with a new plan to keep me from wanting you."

I loved how he got Maddy to look at things differently and to see that it wasn't the end of the world if she followed her dreams. He kept supporting her to the point he got her something special to help her out and MY HEART!!! It was in that moment that I fell beyond repair. There's no coming back from Easton Cole.

I was never going to recover from Easton Cole. He was destroying every piece of me, and I was letting him. [...] Without him, I would have never been brave enough to even think I could do this.

Maddy and Theo have been best friends for years and I could see why Maddy would have a crush on him, but once we really start knowing him, I realized he was kind of self-centered. There was a reason why Maddy never shared her dreams with him, her best friend. That right there is a red-flag to me. When she did, his reaction was the worst. Every action he would take had me fuming! I'm glad Maddy woke up and saw the light!

From the start, Easton's and Maddy's friendship/relationship feels so natural and effortless. Those two fit together like cheese, crackers and wine. Easton just made everything feel perfect between them. He's the type of guy that jokes to make people laugh or feel comfortable and that's exactly what he did when he first met Maddy. From their first interaction, I knew he would stay in my heart.

"How will we explain to our children that we became enemies before we figured out that we were actually in love?"

I cannot recommend this quick and fast novel enough. After not being able to read/finish any book, I finally picked this one up and inhaled it! You know I love a book a lot when I keep sharing updates of my reading experience on Twitter or Goodreads, and I couldn't stop with this one. It's a high rec from me and you guys should totally check it out!

He's a Special Forces veteran making his pro hockey debut. She's a dogged sports reporter determined to get a scoop. She's also his best friend's widow...

Fans can’t get enough of Levi Hunt, the Special Forces veteran who put his NHL career on hold to serve his country and fight the bad guys. So when his new Chicago Rebels bosses tell him to cooperate with the press on a profile, he’s ready to do his duty. Until he finds out who he has to work with: flame-haired, freckle-splashed, impossibly perky Jordan Cooke.

The woman he should not have kissed the night she buried her husband, Levi’s best friend in the service.

Hockey-stick-up-his-butt-serious Levi Hunt might despise Jordan for reasons she can’t fathom—okay, it’s to do with kissing—but her future in the cutthroat world of sports reporting hangs on delivering the goods on the league’s hottest, grumpiest rookie. So what if he’s not interested in having his life plated up for public consumption. Too bad. Jordan will have to play dirty to get her scoop and even dirtier to get her man. Only in winning the story, she might just lose her heart...
When I read the Chicago Rebels series last year, I knew I wanted more from this author. I was really hooked with her books! I do have to say that even though I completely enjoyed this novel, Kate's touch was missing (this seems to be the case with other authors as well).

The man was a robot. One with deliciously kissable lips, but a robot all the same.

Levi Hunt could have been high on the Hockey fame years ago, but he preferred to join the Green Berets and serve for his country. It was there he met Josh and Jordan. From the start, he'd always scowl at her and "couldn't stand" her, according to Jordan. Now he's back to join a hockey team again and he has to prove he's good, no matter the years off the ice. Jordan is ready to get her big break in sports reporting. And since she knows Levi, her boss sends her off to do an interview with him.

Of course he liked her--that was the fucking problem. It had always been the problem. He'd been holding on to this guilt he'd felt for betraying Josh, not just the night of the funeral, but all the nights before. Lust in his heart, someone had once termed it.

This was a quick and enjoyable read for me. We get to see some of the characters from the Chicago Rebels series, which was really cool. This book, while being light, also brought various topics into the mix, such as homelesness, bullying, sexism in the work place, domestic violence, and the list goes on. I honestly liked that the author included these topics, but it got to a point that it was too much. In every conversation had, one of these topics had to be brought up and it felt like it was more of a filler than anything to keep the story going.

Other than that, the romance was super cute and I adored Levi Hunt. I also loved his relationships with his teammates, especially Theo aka SUPERGLUTES! Theo had me laughing my ass off so much in this novel. I can't wait for his story and Sergeant Cupcake. I know it will be a hilarious, yet heartwarming story.
