Earthquake + Pop Quiz | Weekly Rewind ~ 9.29.19

Life Happenings

๐Ÿ‚ I woke up on Sunday morning and decided to do breakfast. We had some ripe plantains so I knew what I wanted to do days in advance๐Ÿ˜‚ I made some scrambled tofu and cooked plantains, put some toasts, avocados and fruits on the table and man, that was so freaking delicious!

๐Ÿ‚That same Sunday, the hubby, my father-in-law and I went out to eat and I had this Vegan Wrap that was bomb! It had mashed malanga, and a legume salad with a homemade dressing that was top-notch! I'm definitely going back!

๐Ÿ‚On Monday night, Puerto Rico had a 6.0 Earthquake and we are STILL getting aftershocks a week later. It was a miracle I didn't feel it. I did hear the door moving but I thought it was a breeze coming through the windows or something so I ignored it.
I had Tuesday off because of the storm. So all day was spent reading, talking about the storm and the earthquake and washing the car, because of course you wash a car before it rains *rolls eyes*

๐Ÿ‚I had to be super strong with my 8th graders. I gave them a pop quiz of 10 questions (worth 25 points) and they all failed. They don't know what respect means and I've been tolerating a lot. It's safe to say that the day after the quiz they were so quiet! And I told them it depended on them how the rest of the semester would go, with more pop quizzes like that and tests like that quiz, book reports with minimum of 6 pages if necessary. They almost died at that. Their behavior the past two days has been amazing LOL

๐Ÿ‚Since Friday was only half-day, I hightailed it to my house (1hr 30 mins), picked up my husband to then drive to a vegan restaurant that's 45 minutes from my house. IT WAS SO WORTH IT!!! I had a Hotpocket of mashed potatoes and salad, mashed malanga (I always order this everywhere I go), refried beans and chips! I'm definitely going back!

Week In Reading

I really enjoyed Learn My Lesson. It was even more twisted than the first one, but I loved the love showed here. Again, twisted, but still true ♥
My heart was stolen by Piers in How to Love a Duke in Ten Days! I felt so much for Alexandra and Piers was just the man to help her with her fears and come out of her shell! ๐Ÿ˜

eARCs | Audiobook for Review

Eeeek! Ever since I saw The Worst Best Man on Nick's TBR on Goodreads, I knew I freaking needed it! And I got it! *throws confetti*
I also got surprised with The Burning Shadow audio! I've been going through it a whole lot faster than reading the physical ARC. I'm also loving it so much!!

Thanks to the publishers, authors and publicists for these copies!

I've been DYING for the first two novels!!! I finally said, "Screw it," and got them both.
I've been eagerly anticipating All the Way! It's a friends-to-lovers that just seems freaking awesome!!
